Starting **Nepal Premier League 2024/2081 ** (NPL) is an upcoming franchise-based T20(Twenty20)cricket league organized by the CAN (Cricket Association of Nepal). It will run from **Nov-30 to Dec-21, 2024**, and all the matches will be played at the **Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium** in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. The tournament is a continuation of Nepal’s efforts to improve its domestic cricket game and follows things up with previous tournaments.
**Eight teams** will compete in the inaugural Nepal Premier League(NPL), representing all major cities in Nepal: **Pokhara, Kathmandu, Janakpur, Lumbini, Chitwan, Far West, Biratnagar**, and **Karnali ** . The tournament will follow a **round-robin format**, with the top teams advancing to the playoffs.
Heavy investment has been made in the ownership of the teams, with **Pokhara** achieving the highest at **NPR 3.57 crore** and **Karnali** at **NPR 1.11 crore**. Each team is expected to showcase local talent & international players.
The agreement also introduced a logo symbolizing Nepal’s heritage, which combined the famous **khukuri** with a cricket bat, as well as some of the country’s national symbols such as the sun, moon and rivers, representing it unity and will together
